Located in the heart of Hillsborough, Orange County Public Library offers free access to books, digital resources, educational programs, community events, and family-friendly activities for all ages. The library provides a welcoming, inclusive space where visitors can learn, explore, connect, and discover new interests throughout the year.
Families can enjoy storytimes, hands-on activities, special events, and educational programs designed for children, teens, and adults.
Summer Reading Program (May 30 – July 25)
Each summer, Orange County Public Library hosts its free Summer Reading Program, encouraging readers of all ages to keep learning and exploring all season long.
The 2026 theme, "Unearth New Adventures," celebrates discovery, creativity, nature, science, and the excitement of uncovering something new through books and library programs.
Everyone is welcome to participate—from babies to adults—and no library card is required to join.
Participants can:
- Track their reading throughout the summer.
- Attend exciting library events and activities.
- Earn prizes and raffle entries.
- Enjoy separate programs designed for kids, teens, and adults.
Kids can choose a free book when they register, earn weekly prizes for reading, and qualify for grand prize raffles. Teens can log both reading and volunteer hours while earning prizes and raffle entries. Adults can complete a Summer Reading Bingo card for the chance to win raffle prizes and enjoy special programs created just for adults.
Registration is open anytime between May 30 and July 25, making it easy to join the fun at any point during the summer.
Free parking is available in the nearby parking deck and on surrounding streets.
